Greek Citizenship

Timetable

The duration of the seminars last for 6 months ans are spread over 3 cycles. We meet once a week for two hours online. You can cover the whole material if you attend all three cycles. Therefore the dates are:

  • Cycle Α (Beginning of October- End of November)
  • Cycle B (Mid December – Mid February) Break from 20/12 – 9/01
  • Cycle C ( 21 February – Mid May)

* Dates are approximate and can be adapted according to the needs and dates of the exams.

Method

  • Level B1 is essential
  • After completing your registration for the first cycle you can access to our material where you can find questions, exercises and other information
  • You will be meeting with your teacher once a week for two hours between 19.30-21.30.
  • The number of students won’t exceed 8 people for every group
  • We offer private lessons which can adapted to your needs after arrangement

The main topics of the examinations are:

  • Greek Geography
  • Greek History
  • Four levels of the Greek language: Reading Comprehension, Writing, Listening and Speaking
  • Politics and Sociology
  • Culture

In more detail:

Geography:

Main information of the natural and geographical environment of Greece (rivers, lakes, mountains, islands, seas, population and municipalities.

History:

The history of the first Greek tribes until today. Main presentation of the most important events that determined the history of Greece from the 400B.C until now. More specifically:

  • Classical Greece (479-323 π.Χ)
  • Hellenistic Greece (323-146 π.Χ)
  • The Romans (146 -330 π.Χ)
  • Byzantine (330-1453)
  • The Ottomans(1453-1821)
  • Greek Revolution to Contemporary Greece

Reading and Writing:

You will be taught 100 different passages with specific targets:

  • Reading comprehension
  • Questions and exercises
  • Vocabulary and Syntax
  • Writing of short essays between 80-100 words

Listening:

You will be taught a selection of 50 topics with two different passages with questions for conversation and practise.

Speaking:

Preparation of specific topics which include:

  • 5 questions about you
  • To express personal preferences and opinions from your everyday personal and social life
  • Role playing

Politics and Sociology:

You aim here is to familiarise yourselves with the main principles, laws and rules of the Greek state so that you are able to participate in the social and political life of Greek society.

Culture:

You aim is to learn about 70 different topics ranging from Greek monuments, music, cinema, theatre, customs and traditions from the ancient until the modern times.
