Ioanna Papadimitriou
Ioanna Papadimitriou studied Philosophy and Sociology at the University of Crete and she did her Master in Educational Policy and Social Exclusion in the Department of Primary Education at the University of Patra.Her dissertation is based on ”the educational prospects and ambitions of the Greek and Immigrant students in Primary Education”. She has workd in 3 European programmes: · SPARDA : Shaping Perceptions and Attitudes to Realize the Diversity Advantage (Council of Europe) · Education, Odontology and Social Work: Interactive and continuous assessment for development of professional competence at the University of Malmo, Sweden. · Socrates Programme: “EPASI in Europe: Educational Policies to Address Social Inequalities in Europe” (ESPA 2007-2013) in ”Creating intergrated and intercultural communication in school”. Her educational experience includes: · Teaching students at the university of Crete in courses concerning multilangiage and multicultural education of immigrants. · Worked as a teacher in the programme ”Education of the Greek language, history and culture to immigrants, Odysseas AP7” of Immigrants. · She offered private lessons in all levels and grades Ioanna shows a great interest in the education of immigrants and refugees of the Greek language and culture in theory and practise aiming at their adaptation to the Greek society and Greek life.
Virginia Villioti
Virginia Villioti studied Classics at the University of Manchester and Greek Philology at the University of Athens. Then she continued her studies in Popular Cinema and since 2010 has taught the Greek language as a second or foreign language in the Greek school of Oxford and the Department of Continuing Education of the Oxford University. She recently completed the Eurolta certificate ”Teaching Greek as a Foreign Language Online”. One of her aims is to make Mathaino a virtual Greek hub for people all around the world.
